In order to go forward, you must backup!

Apple has a handy little utility called Backup. You can use it to back up data (duh!) to either a .Mac, a hard drive, or removable media (i.e. CD/DVD). It allows you to schedule the backups, and there are many preset selectors for common applications or data sets. Install it, click on a few buttons, and you don't have to worry about your data.

I haven't tried it with the CD/DVD burner yet, but so far, the .Mac side of things is slicker than... grease. Set it up and forget all about it - just the way a backup system should be.
