:noah: was kind enough to repeatedly bend the temple on Jen's glasses - to the point that one snapped off. We've been putting off getting it fixed for a while, but Jen couldn't take it any more... so we went to The Mall today to resolve it. The first customer service droid that we talked to told Jen we'd need to buy a new frame (around $100) and they didn't have it in stock. If it's not in stock, then WE would have to go to another location and try to find them ourselves. Basically, she was saying "too bad, so sad, tell your story walking." That didn't sit well with either of us, but we continued to Radio Shack ("You've got questions, we've got blank stares") so I could try to get cables for an experiment. I couldn't get them, and the service (once-again) sucked. We then went to lunch, and it turned out that both of us were mulling over the "incident" and stewing just a bit. So I went back in with :noah: and asked for a manager when one of the optical droids told me to check with the sales peeps. Needless to say, at this point I was far from happy, but I decided to see how things turned out. I can, however, say that I didnt expect great things when I saw the first person who helped us talking with the manager before she came over. Anyway, the manager took hold of the situation and decided to serve the customer. It helped, I think, that they have a year long replacement policy, but that didn't matter to the first person that tried, oh-so-horribly. The upshot was that she could order the frames from elsewhere if they didn't have them in stock. I was told this before, but she was actually making an effort, so I said what the heck - as long as the Jen still had the glasses until the new frames appeared. She did us one better - she managed to find a replacement set of frames, in the store. Long story, short, the glasses are fixed, and this place that I was totally pre-pared to turn my back on this place for good. Good hing it didnt come to that.
